Welcome Michael Dougherty
Eulogy Ilona de Gosztonyi Dougherty
Gloria Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people
of good will. We praise you, We bless you, We adore you, We
glorify you, We give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God,
heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only
Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you
take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take
away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at
the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone
are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the
Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God
the Father. Amen
First Reading: Lamentations 3:17-26 Matthew McRae
(in French)
My soul is deprived of peace, I have forgotten what happiness is; I tell
myself my future is lost, all that I hoped for from the Lord. The thought
of my homeless poverty is wormwood and gall; remembering it over
and over leaves my soul downcast within me. But I will call this to
mind, as my reason to have hope: The favors of the Lord are not
exhausted, his mercies are not spent; they are renewed each morning,
so great is his faithfulness. My portion is the Lord, says my soul;
therefore will I hope in him. Good is the Lord to one who waits for him,
to the soul that seeks him; it is good to hope in silence for the saving
help of the Lord.
Responsorial psalm: Psalm 23
Martin Tomasz, Patrick Gosztonyi
RESPONSE: THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD; THERE IS
NOTHING I SHALL WANT.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in
green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.
Response.
He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk
through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod
and your staff, they comfort me. Response. (French)
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you
anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Response. (Hungarian)
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and
I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long. Response.
Second Reading: Revelation (21:1-5a, 6b-7) Martin
Tomasz
I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The former heaven and the
former earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I also
saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven
from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I heard a
loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with
the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be his people
and God himself will always be with them as their God. He will wipe
every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or
mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away.” The
one who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” I
am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the
thirsty I will give a gift from the spring of life-giving water. The
victors will inherit these gifts, and I shall be their God, and they will
be my own. The Word of the Lord – THANKS BE TO GOD
Gospel: John (14:1-6) Father Szabolcs Licskó
(in Hungarian)
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You
have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there
are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you
that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare
a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so
that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the
way.” Thomas said to Him, “Master, we do not know where you are
going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the
way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me.”
Homily Father Szabolcs Licskó and Father Claude Ritchie
The Apostle’s Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only
Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of
the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified,
died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day
He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and
is seated at the right of God the Father almighty; from there
He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen
Prayers of the Faithful
Hungarian Readings
Lamentations 3 17-26
Minden reggel meg-megújul; nagy a te hûséged!
